Everyone is excited about a new car. I
bought a brand new Acura EL with some
30km on it back in October 2004. Shortly after, I
started to think of different customizations and
improvements. The first improvement didn’t take me too long to come up with as
my budget had permitted me
to safely do so.
What I did ...
I bought a new Alpine head-unit (HU) with a set of speakers for back and front.
I decided not to go too crazy into an expensive setup with sub and amplifier,
just with something that
functional (in spite of a stock HU) and gives you a good quality as well
…
Now, after I had all my parts the whole fun
had began. I didn’t want to screw up my new car yet I
wanted to do everything myself (well as much as I
could). So, I started to look for any info related to
the modification I’m about to start. Oh, boy that wasn’t easy as there were
bunch of info but not regarding Acura EL especially model
2004. The biggest question was
how to take apart the
central dash console, remove the stock HU and install
the new one. I’m not mentioning a harness wiring for EL as everybody knows but
nowhere to find such a thing. So after I gathered
as much info as possible I was ready to start … I did
well. Finished my installation and gained a priceless experience.
Being inspired by my action ...
That’s how I came up with idea of setting up a small website with DIY procedures
and share my knowledge with everybody interested, eventually I’m going to update
this site with more info on other mods (even if there won’t be many) or DIY or
any interesting information that I think will be appreciated by Acura EL owners
… absolutely free!
